摘要
The purpose of this paper is to design and construct a hydrostatic extrusion apparatus and carry out experiments on hydrostatic extrusion with an extra-high extrusion ratio. Using a theorem for designing a two-layer cylinder, a high-pressure container, which can sustain a maximum internal pressure of 1300 MPa, was designed and developed. Using this self-designed hydrostatic extrusion apparatus and pure aluminum as the billet, experiments on hydrostatic extrusion with an extrusion ratio of 64 were performed. The experimental results of extrusion pressures were compared with theoretical predictions by the finite element method.
