摘要
A study was conducted during 1992-94 to determine optimum tillage requirement for rice -wheat cropping system to compare chisel ploughing, rototilling (1 pass), disc harrowing (2 passes), chiselling + rototilling, chiselling + disc harrowing and no-tillage treatments. Data an soil properties, crop response and energy requirement was collected. Crop response under chiselled plots was better than non-chiselled plots. Rototilling combined with chisel ploughing resulted in maximum yield. However, crop yield under no-tillage treatment was comparable to conventional method of seedbed preparation by twice disc harrowing.
