The main purpose of this paper is reconstruction, explication or enumeration of moral maxims of Sandor Marai on the base of his literary heritage, his romans, novels, articles and - first of all, on the base of his memoirs and considerations or meditations. Marai has become the talisman of the new intelectuality. Born in Kassa (Slovakia) Marai grew up with whole twentieth century, established himself as a writer and thinker - object of his interest is a part artistic anthropology, ethics and morality in the history, character of a man, human life and human morality in the meandres of various life situations.
