摘要：
A Geographic Information System (G.I.S.)-based irrigation water management programme has been developed for the Municipality of Aisonia. The local water authority manager had to define the criteria for the optimal allocation of irrigation water volumes on the basis of actual farmer needs and the water resources availability and quality. The programme has been developed to help the water manager to control the water consumption and monitor its quality. The G.I.S. is able to analyse information based on geological and soil surveys, water quality from wells monitoring, crop acreage and irrigation systems. The programme has being employed to evaluate the irrigation water use by the farmers during the irrigation season and to provide guidance on irrigation scheduling.
