摘要
PET/CT has an established and key role in the management of squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck. It should be considered in all patients with occult head and neck tumours and before major interventions particularly in those patients with a high risk of distant metastaes. This article outlines the physical principles of the technique and illustrates the clinical applications in maxilllo facial surgery.
