Effectiveness and safety of long-term anticoagulation of patients ≱90 years of age with atrial fibrillation

摘要：

Physicians generally believe that extremely elderly patients have an unacceptably high rate of hemorrhage with long-term anticoagulation. We report our experience with chronic anticoagulation in 10 patients greater than or equal to 90 years of age to show that anticoagulation can be safe and effective in this patient population.
