摘要
A customer installed residential-based monitoring system has been deployed in multiple areas to help address electrical hazards that cause house fires. Due to the high-density and high-resolution of the expanding distributed sensor network, additional benefits can be realized by utilities from higher visibility into power quality events and disturbances within their networks. This paper describes the technology and the benefits, contrasts other monitoring technologies, and provides a variety of case studies of this new approach to monitoring the grid.
