An attempt was made to find out the efficacy of different plant extracts against Sclerotinia sclerotiorum (Lib.) de Bary causing stem rot of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea (L.) Czern & Coss.). Extracts often plants viz; Allium sativum Linn. bulb extract, leaf extract of Eucalyptus globosus La bill., Azadirachta indica A. Juss., Ocimum sanctum Linn., Parthenium histerophorus Linn., Bougainvillea spectabilis Willd., Lantana camera Linn., Datura stramonium Linn., Calotropis procera (Ait.) R.Br. and Capsicum annum Linn. (1% w/v) were evaluated against aforesaid pathogen. The results;showed that maximum inhibition in colony growth of pathogen was observed in Allium sativum (71.11%) followed by Azadirachta indica (50.37%). Other effective plant extracts were Ocimum sanctum (38.15%) and Calotropis procera (22.96%). The remaining plant extracts were ineffective in checking the mycelial growth of the pathogen.
