UK researchers have found a way of using infrastructure sensor data to predict - rather than simply to detect - structural damage. Valerie Livina at the National Physical Laboratory and Marcus Perry at the University of Strathclyde say it works with concrete and is now being tested on steel. © ICE Publishing.
