摘要
The cost and the harmful environmental effects (greenhouse effect) of conventional methods of energy production have turned the interest of all to Renewable Energy Sources (RES). The most representative advantages of RES (biomass, geothermal energy, hydropower, wind power, solar power thermal and photovoltaic (p/v)) are environmentally friendly and plentiful. The paper approaches the case of the establishment of a photovoltaic module assembly production line in Eastern Macedonia & Thrace in Greece. The use of the photovoltaic modules of crystalline silicon (total product of the line) can contribute to the total electrical energy produced by solar energy in Greece complying with the rules set up by the official European and national energy policy.
