摘要
We use Raman spectroscopy to investigate strain in thin CdSe-ZnS core-shell nanorods. Bare CdSe nanorods are compressed due to surface reconstruction mechanisms. The addition of an epitaxial ZnS shell around the nanorod leads to a compressive strain of the nanorod due to the lattice mismatch between ZnS and CdSe. The amount of strain in the CdSe lattice increases with an increasing shell size. Longitudinal optical phonon Raman bands of CdSe nanorods. The nanorod covered with a ZnS shell is strained and the related Raman band is shifted. [GRAPHICS] (C) 2009 WILEY-VCH Veriag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim
