摘要
Nowadays heavy metal pollution has become a serious environmental issue. Agricultural waste material-peanut shell was used for removal of three heavy metal ions from aqueous solution in batch experiments. The factors affecting adsorption capacity were adsorption time, temperature, pH, and initial concentration. Based on the results, peanut shell showed the best adsorption efficiency for lead by 9.5 mg/g, followed by copper 9.01 mg/g and cadmium 5.26 mg/g. The adsorption process followed by pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Langmuir isotherm model and was endothermic and spontaneous. Further studies should be focused on the desorption characteristics of raw peanut shell in batch and column experiments.
