摘要：
This paper examines the importance of expert systems in the service industry. In particular the application of expert systems in the tourism industry is investigated. A. comprehensive survey is presented to highlight the need for expert systems in the tourism industry. A detailed discussion of the development and implementation of ANESTA, an expert system for tourist advisory, is presented. Finally, directions for future research are suggested.
