摘要
We have built a two-phase liquid immersion cooling system for the data center application. The thermal and IT performance of the system has been studied in the tropical environment. A highly wetting dielectric liquid, Novec 7100, is employed as the coolant. The real computing servers are installed in this data center tank. The dummy boards are installed into the tank as well to simulate the high electric power consumption. The liquid level sensor, thermal sensor, flowmeter and pressure sensor were applied into the system to monitor the system working conditions and acquire experimental data for energy and exergy analysis. Longtime running test has been applied on the system to investigate the stability of this data center system in the high temperature and high humidity environment like Singapore, which would generate the challenge for the heat rejection due to small temperature variation between the tank and its surroundings. The temperature distribution of the servers has been recorded to analyze the IT performance of servers in the two-phase liquid immersion cooling system.
