摘要
Basically, there are two approaches for the analysis of helioseismic data. First, local helioseismology measurements and inversions and, second, global helioseismology which consists in measurements and inversions of p-mode frequencies and frequency splittings. Both the advantages and disadvantages of global helioseismology and the local technique of ring-diagram analysis are discussed. Also discussed are two fitting methodologies for use in global helioseismology. Finally, a modification of the traditional global helioseismology approach is suggested which allows the extension of spherical harmonic decompositions for local helioseismic studies.
