摘要:
A simplified three-dimensional method for simulating plastic deformation in ring rolling with grooved rolls is proposed on the basis of the rigid-plastic finite element method using generalized plane-strain modeling. In this method, the ring rolling process is approximated as a forging process with dies having the same cross-sectional shapes as the grooved rolls, and the elongation in the rolling direction is kept uniform in the cross-section. The effect of the shear deformation in the rolling direction during the rolling is included in the generalized plane-strain modeling to improve the accuracy of the calculated results. The constrain of the elongation in the hoop direction due to the material outside the roll gap is taken into consideration by acting the compressive force in the hoop direction at the roll entry and exit interfaces.
