Resonant Penetration of Intense Femtosecond Laser Pulses Through Plasma of Ultra-Thin Foils

摘要
Simple analytic expression for the transmission coefficient as a function of foil thickness d describing penetration of intense femtosecond laser pulse through ultra-thin foils with the thickness of the order of 100 nm has been derived using the Maxwell-Vlasov-Boltzmann equation. It is found that the transmission of laser radiation stops on the skin depth c/w(p), but sharp and narrow resonances take place at the foil thickness d > c/w(p) where the there is no laser reflection.
