摘要：

The present article intends to clarify the content of the Chinese claim over the South China Sea, despite the lack of a complete and detailed declaration of it, in order to determine if it adjusts to the modern law of the sea. In doing so, we review the acts of the People's Republic of China, the opinion of experts on the subject and the issues discussed in the matter of the South China Sea arbitration, a contentious case initiated by the Republic of the Philippines.
