摘要
Detection of nitrophenolic compounds has great importance concerning to its environmental and health hazards. Herein, we are exploring a simple, thermally stable amide functionalized task specific ionic liquid (TSIL), 3-(2-amino-2-oxoethyl)-1-methylimidazolium chloride, [AmoMIM][Cl] as an effective fluorescent probe for detection of water soluble nitrophenolic compounds viz. picric acid (PA) and p-nitrophenol (NP). The proposed method provides a straightforward detection procedure anchored in significant quenching of fluorescence of TSIL by nitrophenols in aqueous medium. Under the optimized conditions the probe offers good linear relationship within the studied detection range with limits of detection (LOD) found to be 0.43 and 0.38 mu g mL(-1) for PA and NP, respectively. The plausible static fluorescence quenching mechanism accomplished with ground state complex formation is also discussed.
