Interfacial activity of model hydrophobic pyridinecarboxamides

摘要
Interfacial activity of model hydrophobic pyridinecarboxamides having various number, structure and position of hydrophobic substituents in the pyridine ring at the toluene/water interface was studied and interpreted A very high interfacial activity of N-dodecylpyridine-2-carboxamide was demonstrated. Only some observed effects can be explained by structural effects of studied extractants. The hydration of extractant hydrophilic groups at the interface is the most important parameter and permits to explain better the observed changes in interfacial activity of hydrophobic pyridinecarboxamides.
