摘要
We present identification of candidate young stars in Lupus 3, the most active star-forming cloud in the Lupus molecular cloud complex. We used archival UN Schmidt Telescope H-alpha images and 2MASS point-source catalog to select candidate classical T Tauri stars. Most previously recognized H-alpha stars were identified. Additional candidates were found away from the densest part of the molecular cloud. Some bright candidates were spectroscopically confirmed to be H-alpha stars, but these could be just chromospherically active M dwarfs, rather than T Tauri stars. Others were found to show no H-alpha emission, but were selected because their continua are underestimated due to prominent metal oxide, e.g., TiO, absorption lines, typically seen in a late-type star.
