Experiences in Hospital seen through the prism of Measurement and Control

Andrew Hudson shares his views on the hospital experiences with respect to measurement and control. The damage of hear is checked using an ultrasound image. The blood pressure was measured using an automatic device that inflated a collar around the arm and checked the effect on flow through the arm. The temperature was taken using a disposable printed sensor which is based on melting of a series of chemicals set in a matrix. The amount of quantifiable data that is generated through my recent diagnosis and treatment is very reassuring, and interesting. Chemical analysis, physical measurements, subjective statements from patients was all included in the range of information that is taken into account. The disparate data provides a variety that exists within the terms measurement and control.
