摘要
Coffee consumption and health is going to continue to attract attention of researchers and consumers alike. Scientific data echoed by the media has largely contributed to the scene. Although the debate on potential health-related effects of coffee originated during the 90s, only recently it has been suggested that coffee can hove an impact on gut health. Given that the gut microbioto has a major role in human nutrition and health, some of the effects of coffee may be ascribed to the bacteria involved in its metabolism.
