摘要
In the present work, the catalytic combustion of methyl-ethyl-ketone (MEK) has been studied over unsupported (Mn2O3, Mn3O4) and alpha-alumina-, gamma-alumina-, magnesia-, silica-alumina- and silica-supported manganese oxides. The catalytic performance, as judged by the light-off curves for MEK combustion, is quite similar for Mn2O3 and Mn3O4. As regards the support nature the following order of improving performance can be established among the supported manganese oxide catalysts: Mn/(MgO) approximate to Mn/(alpha-Al2O3) < Mn/(SiO2) < Mn/(gamma-AL(2)O(3)) approximate to Mn/(SiO2-Al2O3). The performance of the catalysts in the combustion reaction when alkali and acid ions are added to the solids has also been investigated. The addition of sodium and cesium results in a considerable improvement of the performance, while sulfate has a negative effect.
