摘要
In the present research, electrical treeinganalysis of Cross Linked Polyethylene (XLPE) material filled with pure nano silica particles has been carried out. Inception time, breakdown time and propagation speed of the electrical tree in the nano particles filled XLPE insulation system have been investigated. Silica particles of nano size were used as filler material and added at concentrations of 1% and 3% by weight to the base material. Experiments were conducted in the laboratory following IEC procedures; 12 kV AC voltage was maintained. Tree structure was observed for all the test samples. Dispersion of nano fillers was studied using scanning electron microscope (SEM). Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), determination of volume resistivity, and capacitance and dielectric constant test were carried out to understand the physical and chemical characteristics of nano particles filled XLPE material.
