摘要
Modern production lines usually use a computer-controlled robot or hoist for material handling between workstations. A typical application of such lines is an automated electroplating line for processing printed circuit boards (PCBs). This paper addresses optimal cyclic scheduling of a material handling hoist in an automated PCB electroplating lines with multi-functional and duplicate tanks. We present an analytical mathematical model for the problem and propose a corresponding branch-and-bound algorithm. Computational results on benchmark and real-life instances indicate that optimal cyclic schedules for problems of very large size can be found in reasonable time.
