Lipomas are the most common benign soft-tissue tumors found in the body. They tend to occur in areas of abundant adipose tissue, which explains why they are rarely found in the sole. Very few published cases of lipomas in the sole exist. When lipomas cannot be excised for histologic confirmation, ultrasonography has been shown to be a valuable assessment tool with high diagnostic capabilities. We present the case of 100-year-old patient with a long-standing plantar mass with late-stage clinical and sonographic features of a calcified lipoma. (J Am Podiatr Med Assoc 105(4): 371-373, 2015)
