II-VI semiconductor nanoparticles have recently attracted a lot of attention due to the possibility of their application in various devices. In the present paper, nanoparticles of ZnO are prepared by soft chemical method and thioglycerol was used as capping agent, which controls the agglomeration of particle size. XRD and SEM technique was used for characterization. For the study of dielectric properties, complex permittivity (epsilon' and epsilon '') and loss tangent (tan delta) with frequency is analyzed in the frequency range 50 Hz-1 MHz and temperature range 293K-383K. The frequency-dependence maxima of the imaginary part of impedance are found to obey Arrhenius law with activation energy 1.05 eV. The frequency-dependent electrical data are analyzed in the framework of conductivity formalisms.
