摘要
Cerium-based oxides usually find application as electrolyte for SOFC applications, but can also be considered as potential protective coatings for interconnect materials. Ceria thin films were obtained on stainless steel via a cathodic electrolytic deposition method, at an elevated temperature. The submicron films were characterized using X-ray diffraction, showing that the cubic phase was directly obtained. Scanning electron microscopy revealed small grain size, and a no-cracked coating. The electrical properties of the ceria films were investigated by impedance spectroscopy measurements.
