Stem and root rot of gentian caused by Fusarium avenaceum

摘要：
Stem and root rot was observed in gentian plants (Gentiana triflora) in Aomori Prefecture, Japan, in 2016. A fungal isolate from diseased root was identified as Fusariumavenaceum based on morphological characteristics and DNA sequence data. Inoculation of gentian plants with this isolate produced a similar stem and root rot. F.avenaceum is thus proposed as a new pathogen causing stem and root rot of gentian.
