A Competitiveness Assessment of the Russian Companies: Global Landmarks

In the contemporary world, in the era of production globalization and internationalization, one of the most strict criteria for the effectiveness of a company and the relevance of its products is competitiveness. The concept of competitiveness is very relative since a product being competitive in some markets can completely lose in competition in other markets. And this fact forces companies and states to more carefully develop their competitive strategy and improve the quality characteristics of their products. The goal of the study set by the authors was to study the issues of assessing the Russian companies' competitiveness concerning their management practices. In the process of studying the issue of the Russian companies' competitiveness, the authors of this article used such methods of scientific knowledge as the method of generalizations and comparisons, statistical and factor analysis, etc. The article develops ideas for systematizing approaches to assessing the competitiveness level of the Russian companies. The authors analyze the reasons and factors affecting the competitive environment of the Russian market. Also, they discuss the competitiveness indicators of the Russian Federation at the macro and micro levels. The need to develop a system for assessing the competitiveness of Russian companies based on global methodologies is justified.
