Supporting multimedia applications with Internet QoS

摘要
To deliver information for multimedia applications in a distributed environment relies on the Quality of Service (QoS) guaranteed by the communication networks. The Internet was designed to transmit data in the best-effort fashion without QoS guarantees. As multimedia applications emerge, the Internet community has proposed several protocols and network architectures to support the provision of QoS by the Internet. Consequently, a framework is needed to serve as the bridge between applications and the QoS provided by the Internet. In this paper, an integrated framework is proposed to support multimedia applications with Internet QoS.
