摘要
IDENTIFICATION, evaluation, and mitigation of technical risk, forming part of a methodology known as integrity management, is now generally accepted as good practice by pipeline owners and operators. Managing a pipelines' integrity via pressure containment alone, however, leaves many risks unattended. The presence of such risks can be a major contributor to sub-optimal business performance. Pipeline certification embraces integrity management and examines the current state of the pipeline with knowledge of its characteristics from initial conception, design, construction, operations, and environmental impact. This represents industry best practice.
