摘要：
We report the case of a 55-year-old man with left lateral ankle pain for 2 months after injury. Ultrasonography of the left ankle showed discontinuity of the peroneal longus tendon consistent with rupture. There are a few reports of transverse rupture of the peroneus longus; it is an uncommon injury of the lower extremity and difficult to diagnose. The use of ultrasonography to evaluate the ankle integrity in this case accurately identified the injury, which was subsequently confirmed at surgery.
