摘要
A time-domain expression for characterizing a link between two dipole antennas is derived by considering the Fourier transform of the familiar frequency-domain results. The expression is evaluated for the case of a pulse-excited transmitting dipole and a similar receiving dipole some distance away, and examples are shown for pulsed communications between these two dipoles. Reflection-matching source and load resistors are used, and the link loss is compared to that between the same two dipoles in the frequency domain. Numerical values are given for characterizing a pair of 2 m center-fed dipoles 100 m apart. The potential for ultra-wide-bandwidth communications between dipoles is demonstrated.
