High brightness LaPO4:Ce,Tb phosphor particles with spherical shape

摘要
Green-emitting LaPO4:Ce,Tb phosphor particles were synthesized by a large-scale spray pyrolysis. The prepared phosphor particles had a completely spherical shape, fine size, and high brightness under ultraviolet. The phosphor particles had the maximum photoluminescence intensity after posttreatment at 1300 degreesC even without flux material. The phosphor particles had a spherical shape and non-aggregation characteristics. The types of phosporous source affected the morphological characteristics and photoluminescence of the prepared particles. Particles prepared from a solution with ammonium hydrogen phosphate had a higher brightness than those prepared from solutions with ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, ammonium phosphate, or phosphoric acid. The maximum brightness of particles prepared by spray pyrolysis was 109% that of the commercial product with non-spherical shape and large size. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
