Evolution of Crystal Structure and Piezoelectric Properties of Sm-Doped Bismuth Ferrite across the Rhombohedral-Orthorhombic Phase Boundary

摘要
The evolution of crystal structure and piezoelectric properties of the Bi1-xSmxFeO3 ceramics across the rhombohedral-orthorhombic phase boundary (0.1 < x < 0.15) is studied. Piezoresponse force microscopy measurements have been used to attest ferroelectric properties of the compounds. PFM data have testified a decrease of piezoresponse for the compounds with mixed structural phase. The maximal piezoresponse has been observed for the compound with x= 0.12 having dominant polar rhombohedral phase and minor antipolar orthorhombic one. The PFM data obtained for the samples allowed to get a polarization mapping for the sample with the most pronounced piezoresponse as well as to estimate an evolution of piezoelectric properties of the compounds.
