Effect of fluoride on properties of heavy metal germanate glasses

摘要
The substitutions of BaF2 for BaO were made in BaO- Ga2O3- GeO2 system. Effect of fluoride on the properties of glasses was investigated. The glass transformation temperature, onset temperature of crystallization, refractive index and IR transmitting spectra were determined. Replacement of oxygen by fluorine in barium gallium germanate glass reduces the refractive index, the T-g and the T-x, while increasing the DeltaT. The concentration of hydroxyl decreases greatly as the fluoride being introduced, and the absorption of hydroxyl at about 3300cm(-1) decrease as the increase of fluoride content.
