Internal standard compensation for interference of sodium matrix in inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry

摘要:
The non-spectroscopic interference of easily ionized elements (EIEs) in axial inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy often makes its result deviate from accuracy. The interference due to variable concentration of sodium and its compensation by using internal standard element yttrium were investigated. It was found that the combination of robust conditions, i.e high power and low carrier gas flow rate, and selecting some ion lines with sum of the ionization and excitation energy more than 10 eV could compensate for interference from sodium matrix using yttrium 437.494 nm internal standard elements.
