摘要
To examine mechanisms for minimizing tool wear during eco-machining, cutting temperatures while continuous and interrupted cutting were measured Results indicated that cutting temperature is low when cutting depth is small or when cutting distance is less than several times the depth of the cut. In addition, because cut temperature was low when chip thickness was thin, cutting temperature could be reduced by controlling the chip outflow state. Thus, tool life can be extended by minimizing chip thickness, depth of cut, and cutting distance.
