摘要
This paper shows a procedure to damp out the low frequency oscillation using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) based Power System Stabilizer (PSS) controller for a single machine infinite bus (SMIB) test system using MATLAB Simulink. This paper is useful to demonstrate various operational and stability challenges in power system operations. Here synchronous machine (model 1.1) is used which includes both generator main field winding and damper winding in q-axis. The eigenvalue analysis and non-linear simulation results show the effectiveness of the controller. This paper shows the eigenvalue analysis and non-linear simulation results for both CPSS and PSOPSS. The results of CPSS and PSOPSS shows that the proposed controller have an excellent capability to mitigate small signal oscillations in power system.
