Polymerisation processes in vesicle systems

Some recent work on polymerisation processes in vesicle assemblies is described. There are two main types of polymerisation that can occur. In the limiting case, either a polymer bead may form which is still attached to the vesicle, or polymerisation may take place over the complete vesicle surface. With appropriate hydrophobic substrates, there is no significant transfer of polymerisable material between vesicles on the time scale of polymerisation.
