摘要
Through a series of individual and group activities, this active learning workshop highlights librarian and faculty expectations of each other's roles, explores the factors contributing to successful library/faculty collaborations, and examines the nature of leadership, which builds on many of these same factors. The qualities of leadership identified are those which instruction librarians generally exhibit to be successful at their jobs, and so instruction librarians are likely candidates for leadership Poles. The nature of leadership is changing, as the traditional hierarchical leadership structure is being replaced by a new team-based model which merges collaboration and leadership. Instruction librarians must meet the challenge of assuming a leadership role in transforming their organizations for new collaborative and virtual realities.
