摘要
Municipal Solid Waste Management is the biggest environmental issue for rapidly growing Metropolitan cities of the World. High waste collection efficiency with low transportation cost is directly related to optimum Waste Management System. The objective of the proposed study is to develop a mathematical model to minimize the transportation cost associated with the Solid Waste Management of Faridabad City, Haryana State, India. The result outcomes reveal that about 38,282,022 INR (Indian Rupees) cost would be required to transport 268,478.6 Metric Tons waste from Wards to Solid Waste Transfer Stations within the time span from January, 2015 to December, 2017. This is observed that about 20,950,922 INR would be the required minimum transportation cost to dispose 153,307.3 Metric Tons waste from wards to Solid Waste Transfer Stations in the city within the period July, 2018 to February, 2019. The Model would be beneficial for policy makers of Municipal Corporation of Faridabad for allocating the waste from wards to Transfer Stations before final disposal to Landfill site.
