Fluorene-based aggregation-induced emission (AIE)-active tetraphenylethene derivatives: The effect of alkyl chain length on mechanofluorochromic behaviors

摘要
Three fluorene-based tetraphenylethene derivatives with alkyl chains of different lengths were synthesized and characterized. All of these fluorescent dyes showed excellent aggregation-induced emission characteristics. Furthermore, these compounds also displayed tunable solid-state fluorescence involving various colors of blue-green, green and blue. More interestingly, their different mechanoresponsive behaviors could be effectively adjusted by minor alkyl modifications. (C) 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
