摘要
Currently, socio-political changes have been accompanied (and sometimes caused) by hoaxes published on social networks. These hoaxes have increased due to the state of emergency caused by the New Coronavirus, affecting the credibility of governments, and at the same time, generating false expectations in the population. The objective of this study is to analyze the political impact of COVID-19 on social network Twitter. To do this, we used a qualitative approach and a quantitative approach to understand this phenomenon. In this sense, a survey was conducted in a sample of four hundred participants, and, at the same time, the contents about COVID-19 that had been on Twitter were examined, as well as the ones found on various media and news in the region. The results of the analysis revealed that social networks influence the decision-making of governments; and, as they are often considered as sources of disinformation, they could act as instruments for manipulating the when with the Pandemic
