The Influence of Calcination Temperature on Phase and Morphology of Ba(Sn0.05Ti0.95)O3 Powders Synthesized via Solid State Reaction Method and Combustion Technique

Barium stannate titanate [Ba(Sn0.05Ti0.95)O-3; BST5] powders were synthesized via a solid state reaction and combustion techniques. The single perovskite phase of BST5 powders was found with calcinations temperature of 1200 degrees C for both techniques. The percent of perovskite and lattice parameter a increased with an increase of calcinations temperature. The average particle size increased from 0.54 to 0.86 mu m for the solid state reaction method and 0.35 to 0.78 mu m for the combustion technique when increasing calcinations temperature from 600 to 1200 degrees C. The average particle size from the combustion technique was smaller than the solid state reaction method.
