Unlike Y-Ba-Cu-O, the Nd-Ba-Cu-O system forms a Nd1+x Ba2-xCU3O7-delta-type solid solution (Nd123ss). Recently, it was found that Nd123ss with x < 0 can be stabilized at high temperatures under a low oxygen partial pressure, P(O-2). In the present study, we further confirmed the presence of a Ba-rich Nd123ss single phase through the investigation of the x dependence of lattice parameters and the P(O-2) dependence of the peritectic decomposition temperatures in Nd123ss samples with various x values.
