10 Gbit/s RZ-OOK to BPSK format conversion by cross-phase modulation in single semiconductor optical amplifier

摘要：
A simple and power-efficient, all-optical format conversion from 10 Gbit/s RZ-OOK to BPSK is demonstrated using a single semiconductor optical amplifier and optical bandpass filtering. A receiver sensitivity penalty of similar to 1 dB relative to baseline RZ-OOK was obtained for similar to-0.17 nm filter detuning relative to the probe carrier wavelength.
