Miller-Fisher syndrome (MFS) is a rare variant of Guillain-Barre syndrome characterized by the triad of ataxia, ophtalmoplegia and areflexia. Recurrences are exceptional with MFS. Herein, we present the case of a patient with MFS who developed a recurrence after an asymptomatic interval of eight years. Since there is no known predisposing factor, keeping the possibility of recurrence in mind would be important for the follow-up of patients with MFS. (Archives of Neuropsychiatry 2011;48: 281-4)
